About Me
Hello and welcome to my Weebly page! I initially created this Weebly account as a part of my graduate-level program for secondary education. It's original purpose was to showcase my ideas and projects--like a portfolio. Now, I'm using the Weebly as a platform for student learning, resource sharing, and parental involvement.
I was born in Soldotna, Alaska, where I lived until I graduated from Skyview High School. In 2008, I started studying Biology at the University of Alaska Anchorage. In 2014 I graduated from UAA with B.A. English with emphases in Rhetoric and Linguistics and B.A. German. After graduation, I moved to Bonn, Germany (in North Rhine-Westphalia) on a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship grant for 10 months. Upon returning from Germany I immediately enrolled in a masters program through the University of Alaska Southeast. During the 2015-16 school year, I interned at Robert Service High School in Anchorage, Alaska. There I taught English literature and German. In 2016, I received my Master's of Art in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Secondary and Middle Grades. As of August 2016, I am very pleased to announce that I will be teaching middle school science at the Rilke Schule German School of Arts & Sciences in Anchorage, Alaska. My long term goals are to continue teaching language--which I love and which has made a tremendous impact on my life and my worldview--, and to one day go back to school and study applied linguistics and/or philology. A few other facts about me: I am very much fond of nature and being out-of-doors; I dabble in guitar and ukulele; I'm slowly learning other languages, such as Turkish, Greek, and Latin. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask. I can be reached via...Contact Please feel free to address me in German, too, if you prefer!!! |
